While the sleek design and unique features are enticing, here are some reasons why you should opt not to buy a Tesla.

Not eco-friendly

Contrary to popular belief, Tesla models aren’t environmentally conscious. Producing the batteries for one Tesla vehicle is equivalent to driving a conventional car for eight years. In other words, the production of these batteries wreaks serious havoc on the environment.

Recharging is a drag

Unlike standard cars, you can’t take your Tesla to a gas station to refuel it. Instead, you have to drive to a Tesla charging station, which ends up being over an hour-long ordeal. Not only is this time-consuming, but it can also be a hassle if you have a difficult time locating a charging network.

Inconvenient roadside service

Though Tesla models are highly advanced, accidents still happen. If you’re in a fender bender or something breaks down, getting the necessary help can prove a challenge. In addition to being limited, roadside services are also expensive. One of the most common issues that Tesla owners run into is a shortage of electricity. Unfortunately, roadside assistance isn’t equipped to remedy this problem.

No spare tire

What happens when you’re driving down the highway and run over a nail? If you drive a Tesla, this will land you in a world of hurt. Tesla vehicles don’t come with spare tires, so if you get a flat tire in the middle of nowhere, you’ll end up a sitting duck.

Limited cup holders

The Tesla may come with streaming services, advanced parking sensors, and self-driving capabilities, but it’s lacking in the cup holder department. With that said, Musk may have forgotten to account for basic features. If you’re riding with several passengers, tell them to leave all beverages at home.

Costly

It’s no secret that buying a Tesla will cost you an arm and a leg. The Model X will set you back $100,000. Unless you’re rolling in dough, this likely isn’t a viable option. What’s more, the insurance can also be pretty steep.

Though Elon Musk is a celebrated name in the auto realm, not all car enthusiasts are fond of his innovative Tesla creation.
