Top Luxury Cars That Resold Within A Year Of Purchase

Owning a car is a significant financial investment to make, and some models resale more than others. Most cars do not meet the buyers’ standard of functionality since the majority are luxury; thus, they induce high expectations.

There might be other reasons why a consumer may opt to resell, such as car dealers’ incentives. According to a consumer report, these luxury cars have low-reliability rankings. Here are some of the cars owners may resell within a year of ownership:

Nissan Versa

Both the sedan and hatchback type, which belongs to Nissan versa is on the list of cars resold within a year. According to analysis, these versions are typically sold within a year of their purchase even though it’s the U.S’s cheapest. It has recorded a high number of reselling within a year.

Subaru WRX

This one has terrible J.B. numbers compared to the vehicle’s initial quality, especially STI on Subaru WRX. STI ranked worst in the 2016 compact class. The resell indicates a lack of consumer willingness to keep the luxury car for a year. The original buyer incurred a $2000 loss after a year of ownership.

Chrysler 200

Those who respect J.D. power rankings and consumer feedback will have a second thought on Chrysler 200 purchase. It ranks poorly on reliability and quality, which translates to mass resell, which meant a 30% loss to the owners. This loss is equivalent to $7500, which if the consumer sold before a year ends. This model performed poorly in the resell market.

Mercedes E-Class

iSeeCars survey indicates that both Mercedes and BMW give dealers incentives to purchase new cars as loaners since luxury consumers are likely to buy a new model as they wait for servicing, offering dealers to maintain stock. Dealers can resell loaners at a discounted price before a year ends. Car incentives explain why most sedan E-Class consumers resold within a year at a discount of 19%.

BMW 4 series

4 series is another famous model that resold within a year of purchase. It went on an upsell with the learners returning them for service with a line up of 3 buyers waiting. The sellers have to incur a loss of over $9000 if sold within a year of purchase.

BMW X3

BMW X3 and SUV made it to the list of luxury cars sold within a year of ownership. Although BMW users may want to experience the X model’s performance, the market has focused on SUVs. Owners who resold within the first year lost 12.6% of the original price.

Nissan versa note

Those with a low budget for a vehicle turned to this model without checking its capability incurred loss despite their fixed budget. Consumers who were not satisfied and sold within a year lost 20% of their initial purchase, equivalent to $3400.

Mercedes C Class

Mercedes C Class is one of the models people don’t keep for long as most consumers don’t meet their expectations of the car’s performance. These cars resale exceptionally early.
