The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, NASCAR for short, is one of the largest motorsport organizations in the world. Formula 1 is the world’s most famous motorsport competition, but especially in America, the NASCAR is a lot more popular than Formula 1. This is mainly due to the exciting stock-car races. But over the years, the institute has also paved the way for countless incredibly talented drivers. They can be found in all kinds of motorsport competitions around the world. As an illustration of this talent development, we list the three best-known NASCAR drivers in history.

Jeff Gordon

Jeff Gordon has been active in the NASCAR circuit since the early 1990s. He surprised everyone. Because of his handsome and young appearance, he was more like a model than a racing driver. Partly due to that youthful and attractive appearance, he has helped attract other audiences to the NASCAR races. Gordon has had a career of more than 20 years. In that period, he managed to finish 329 times and achieved 93 victories. He was one of the most successful drivers of all time. Jeff Gordon retired in 2015.

Dale Earnhardt

Dale Earnhardt has had a large number of nicknames during his career. He is called “Ironhead,” “The Man in Black,” and “The Intimidator,” among others. It is, therefore, undeniable that Earnhardt belongs in the list of the greatest NASCAR drivers of all time. He achieved a record by winning no less than seven NASCAR Winston Cup championships. In 2001, he was killed in a crash during a Daytona 500 event. His son, Dale Earnhardt Jr., continued his legacy. He is now an analyst for NASCAR on television channel NBC.

Richard Petty

The last one that should not be missing from the list of best NASCAR drivers of all time is Richard Petty. Like Dale Earnhardt, he also won the NASCAR Winston Cup championships seven times, but he was the first driver to achieve that. Petty won the record 200 races in his career and was on pole 127 times, also a record. Based on the statistics, he is considered the greatest driver in NASCAR history. Hence his nickname ‘The King.’ He is over 82 years old and still works with his family in his company, Richard Petty Motorsports.
